We are in the delicate two week time period between lunar and solar eclipses. This is a time of dancing with our shadows, needing to be diligent with self exploration, and bravely looking at the parts of our being that need transformation. These big shifts and changes are sealed with the Solar Eclipse occurring on October 23rd which auspiciously is also Diwali, the day of light and a celebration of Maha Lakshmi. Read more about this sensitive time in my Full Moon Eclipse Wisdom article.
Simultaneously, this two week period holds extreme changes, transformations and a very cosmic dance with the planets. There will be four major shifts within hours and days of each other. First Mercury retrogrades back into its sign of exaltation, Virgo (where Rahu is currently) on October 16th. On October 17th, Sun shifts into its sign of debilitation, Libra, on the 17th where it joins exalted Saturn. Saturn will be sandhi at this time (in the gap) and perched at the edge of Libra, ready to jump into Scorpio for a 2.5 year transit on November 2nd! The very next day, on October 18th, Mars jumps into Sagittarius for a short 5 week transit, while Virgo shifts into Libra, its own sign. Talk about movement and change! Libra is significant for helping us find balance and greater stability in our lives. This theme of transformation continues with a stalemate of planets in Scorpio coming next. We need this time of shift over the next two weeks to help us weigh and measure our options before we make some big changes for ourselves over the next few months. So use this time for gathering resources, information, tools and support. What do you need for your ultimate nourishment and support in life? Where are you confused, stuck and vacillating? Who and what in your life is helping you move forward, and who and what are holding you back? This is a time of gathering information. Be diligent. I’ll be sharing more about the day to day details of this powerful time in my Moon Mind Calendar. Be sure to follow along. Horoscopes for the Waning Moon Cycle {October 8th to 23rd} *Horoscopes are based on your Vedic rising sign. You can also check your Moon and Sun signs for further insight. Do the same with your Navamsa signs for further clarity. Do not use these horoscopes with your “Western Sign” as there is likely no correlation. These horoscopes are meant to be used as a broad overview of the current transits and obviously do not address the specifics of an individual’s unique chart. Aries: Your stomach holds many resources for you about your healing work right now. It’s the home of our intuitive wisdom and gut instincts. Are you listening to what it’s telling you, or are the messages lost in the shadows? Paying close attention to diet and purifying your digestion right now is ideal. Zoom in on your bad habits; these are the things that are holding you back from moving forward in your life. Watch out for drinking, drugs and excess sugar at this time as well as pieces of you that are manipulating yourself and others out of fear. This will be important as your relationship house becomes the focus after the 17th. Taurus: The dance for you right now is between creativity and healing. Listen to your creative impulses, your child like senses, your passions. These hold wisdom for you about what you need in your life to thrive and where you might be holding back. Find the stability and answers you need in your gut, your instincts, your digestion and assimilation of nourishment. Transforming your bad habits will come from finding a new sense of balance with what you need and what you don’t need. It will take a radical approach to loosen and remove these old pieces, the blockages that are holding you back. As Mars and Venus shift on the 18th, you’ll get some support with transforming from your depths. Don’t forget that your creativity is the missing link. Gemini: Matters of the heart seem to carry the most weight with them right now. The emotional body wisdom is crying to you, “Listen to me!” The illusions have been so strong that you have likely been missing these vital messages for quite some time; these are the resources that demand your attention though. How much longer will you bypass your body wisdom, your intuitive wisdom, for the imaginal realms of the mind? You’re being offered a window right now into your creative, passionate being. It beckons to you, yearns for you to jump into the creative flow of your whole being. This is a unique time, one that can untie head and heart, and let them dance more purposefully in duet. Get answers from the pelvis. Cancer: Your shadow dance is between the heart and the courage it takes to live your dreams. There’s a lot of back and forth- fears and illusions playing with you right now. The trick is to capture these illusions when you catch yourself dancing with them, then bring some new light to them once you do. Do not stuff them back into your heart- as disappointments, only to become more haunts and torments. Now is the time to courageously face your set backs, the emotional wounds you are carrying, and passionately transform them. Art will be your medicine, but first you must figure out what really ails you. Leo: The light that is coming from your depths is your most valuable resource right now. These are the pieces of your being that are forcing their way up from your shadows and begging you to see them. It’s a time of restructuring, and endings, with the support of guidance and knowledge. Trust the nourishment in your life and find ways to amplify this support for yourself. What are your greatest needs and what do you need for ultimate comfort and security? There is something you can count on, no matter what. It’s your creativity; your ability to return to and be nourished by your creative powers. Don’t forget this wisdom. Virgo: The magic and mystery you are discovering, stems from your lower chakras. Your roots are shifting, changing; as though you are tilling your own soil. Dancing with feet, legs and pelvis as a primary resource can offer a magnified creative flow and help you find the stability and comfort you are seeking so desperately. This theme continues in the coming weeks and requires your bravery and honesty. What are you most passionate about and craving from your depths? What pieces of your life have yet to be attended to? Your soul is giving you an ultimatum. It’s time to really thrive now, to do what you were born to do. You can no longer pretend your needs don’t matter. Stabilize from the ground up. Libra: It’s your party and you can cry if you want to. There’s a number of fancy dances happening in your sign in the coming days. Ins and outs, losses and gains, returns and revivals. You may feel a sense of renewal and a surge of hope. Capture this and hold it tightly for now. Paint elaborate images with this feeling and nurture it tenderly. These are the delicate seeds that can offer you blossoms in your new solar cycle. With Sun moving out of your shadowed realms and into your head, there’s a sense of rise and shine, though his debilitation softens his shine. Use this time to be radical in your boundaries and find a new balance in the process. Scorpio: Your mantra is shakti. Imbibe it it. Become it. Let it move you, move through you and surrender to its messages. Guard it with your entire being and cultivate more of it within you. Be nourished by it and let this flow continue to move you. Wherever you are losing your spark, your ability to transform and transcend your shadows, shows the blockages that need your greatest attention and intention. Where are you standing still when you desire movement? Where are you feeling malnourished, when you desire a feast? Dance with the shadows for answers and listen to your depths. They are whispering to you for more of this one precious life. Sagittarius: Wisdom and knowledge may be coming to you in surprising ways right now. Your heart is getting clearer in the process of much restructuring; you are definitely lightening your load. As life begins to simplify more and more, you’ll begin to notice the basic requirements that you need for your true nourishment and satisfaction. Less is more; but use this time to determine radically what needs to be let go of in order to really be nourished by what truly serves you. This includes bravely addressing your emotions in new ways and being willing to look at their messages in new ways. Be radical and bold in your giving and receiving. There’s a dance taking place with your polarities. What are you opening to and what are you closing to? Capricorn: The biggest question you face is how to merge all of these seemingly different pieces of yourself into one offering. There is so much you want to do, to say, to be. Is it possible that all of you can be shared with the world, in order to shine brightly and magnificently? Without ruining yourself and your vitality in the process? This pulling in multiple directions can be your downfall, only if you neglect the natural cycles and rhythms of Nature. Let her creative flow tell you when to rise and when to fall. Trust and surrender to her dance. Forcing, pushing and over working are the shadows that need your greatest attention and intention at this time. Ultimate balance will take you far. Go there. Find it. Work with that like your life depends on it. It does. Aquarius: You’ve been working with a low point, a pause recently. And if you’ve really been paying attention, you’ve noticed how important this standstill has been for you and your inner transformational process. There is a new richness, more fertile soil within you so to speak. This is the ground work that you are now ready to plant some potent seeds into. A rich harvest is coming, but continue to digest and assimilate, nourish and be nourished by learning and wisdom. The best way for you to amplify this is through teaching and giving what you know away to others. The teacher learns more than the students. Pisces: The theme of endings and transformations continues for you and your relationship matters. Who are you inviting in and who are you releasing and letting go of permanently? Wisdom and knowledge seem to be the fuel you need for increasing passion and creativity in your life right now, but don’t neglect the role your emotional body and intuitive wisdom play in your awareness and growth. Your emotional body wisdom is also a place of much creativity. Use it as a resource to find out more about what you need in your life and relationships. What fuels your gifts and your giving? Are you sharing from a sustainable place or a place of lack and need? What does your emotional body tell you when you give yourself to others? Save a piece of yourself for yourself. This is a powerful week! Mercury is retrograde, and the full Moon on Wednesday brings with it a full lunar eclipse. We enter a delicate two week period between lunar and solar eclipses at this time. Take this into consideration with your actions and intentions. We are working with shadow and illusions in this gap of time. Dance with them intentionally and may you lift the veil of illusion in some new way!
Monday, October 6th Today’s Intention: Take one step at a time. Take each step with intention. Keep your commitment to grounding, while finding your balance. But keep moving. Moon moves to Purvabhadrapada nakshatra at 03:12 am CDT, inviting in Ajaikapada and another level of Jupiter into our day. Moon is receiving drishti from Mars while it transits Aquarius, which offers charge, action and increased fire. Purvabhadrapada is connected to tapas and penance. Ajaikapada is a form of Shiva, lord of the dance, and reminds us of our human capabilities- balancing struggles, challenges and obstacles as we move forward in life. Pada means foot. It is essential to remember slow, simple steps again today. As Ajaikapada dances, he balances, one foot raised, and one foot firmly grounded. There is a certain purpose, a direct gaze (drishti) and a strong commitment that one must have to keep this sense of balance and grounding simultaneously. These are your reminders for today. Slow, steady steps, using great commitment and purpose as you move. Intention will be a poignant reminder as well. Since Ajaikapada is a Rudra, there is immense strength available here. At what costs are you willing to move forward? Lighten your load, it will make it easier to dance through life. Moon moves to Pisces at 19:25 CDT, joining Ketu there. Moon receives drishti from debilitated Venus, Sun and also Rahu, as well as Jupiter from nine houses away. This will intensify our experience over the next few days leading into the full Moon. More on this in my upcoming Moon Mind Calendar and Full Moon Wisdom article. Tuesday October, 7th Today's Intention: The desire to change ourselves and our lives, requires that we dig deeply down into our depths. Moon transits Pisces with Ketu there as well. Moon and Ketu both receive ample gaze from debilitated Venus, Sun and also Rahu, as well as Jupiter from nine houses away. This will intensify our experience over the next few days leading into the full Moon tomorrow. Just after midnight, Moon jumps into Uttarabhadrapada at 00:51 am CDT. This nakshatra is the latter half of the bhadrapada constellation which symbolizes the front half and back half of a funeral cot; death, transformation and letting go are the focus here. Uttarabhadrapada is ruled by Ahirbudhnya, the serpent of the deep. He is a naga serpent connected to wisdom (not a sarpa serpent connected to illusions) which indicates his immense and vast knowledge- knowledge and wisdom that must be excavated deeply for. He is connected to our subconscious mind, the pieces of our being that are ruling us, but that we must work hard to uncover and transform. He is a serpent, but a serpent we can work with, learn and grow from. The back legs of a funeral cot symbolize that Uttarabhadrapada is helping us liberate, let go of and let the pieces of our story move, change and release. Yesterday we began a very intentional dance- moving us towards the full Moon lunar eclipse and waning Moon cycle. Today, let that dance transform into a very intentional release. What shadows and demons are you ready to release, transform and let go of? The Moon is already in the 15th tithi, the final phase of its waxing phase. Our cups are full and overflowing. It's time to release and let go. Do this with poignancy, intention and commitment as we embark on this final eclipse cycle of the year. Moon moves to Revati nakshatra at 22:38 CDT, nearing exact conjunction with Ketu. Wednesday, October 8th Today's Intention: Total eclipse of the heart. Soften and release, but courageously look at your shadows. Moon will be completely full at 05:49 am CDT while in Pisces and Revati nakshatra. Simultaneously, there will be a lunar eclipse occurring. The eclipse begins at 03:17 am CDT and continues until 08:32 am CDT. The maximum part of the eclipse will be at 05:55 am CDT. Moon in Revati nakshatra at the time of the eclipse in Pisces furthers the symbol of release, endings and letting go while strengthening themes of its ruling planet Mercury. Pushan, the ruling deity of Revati, insures our safe passage and travels, and requests simplicity and purity. He is a protector and helps us find our way back to the path when we are lost. He also can help us retrieve lost or stolen items. This is a special waning Moon cycle that offers us many returns, on multiple levels. Be willing and open to receive messages that will help you strengthen your path, return to and restore your sense of well being, hope and possibility. Be open to comfort and nourishment and reminders that life doesn't have to be hard and forced- it can be lighter and more gentle. This requires us to clear away rubble, debris and anything blocking our path, so vital clearing is truly essential during this eclipse cycle. For full details on the eclipse and the coming waning Moon cycle read my Full Moon Wisdom article. Moon jumps into Aries at 20:44 CDT and into Ashwini nakshatra. Thursday, October 9th Today's Intention: Don't get led by your senses. Reign in your horses. As Moon transits Aries in Ashwini nakshatra, our two week eclipse cycle begins with the Ashwini-Kumara twins leading us towards healing and revitalization. Moon also receives drishti (gaze) directly from exalted Saturn and retrograde Mercury. The Ashwini twins enliven the healing arts and beckon us to rejuvenate through healing modalities such as rasayana treatments and using the creative arts to spark change and vitality within us. Ayurveda is their domain and strength comes as a gift of their healing, symbolized here by a horse. The Ayurvedic strengthening herb, Ashwagandha, is connected to the horse and the root word ashva. Today, make sure self care is a top priority. The two weeks between lunar and solar eclipse, and also the gap between summer and winter (fall), is a delicate time for health and well being. It's a sandhi time, so treat yourself with extra TLC. Start your fall cleanse today if you haven't already. I'm unveiling my new Swati Jr Jewelry collection today. The new Cosmic Collection is inspired by our dance with the Sun, Moon and Stars. Have you joined my FB event? I'll be giving gifts, incentives, discounts and more! Join the trunk show event and get in on the goodies! Moon moves to Bharani nakshatra at 19:16 CDT. Friday, October 10th Today's Intention: Strength and sensitivity go hand in hand. Your vulnerability is your power. Moon transits Bharani nakshatra, ruled by Yama and Venus. Yama brings restraint and is considered the king of dharma, because he determines your karmas at the time of your death. It is through the self control and restraint he provokes that can keep us out of suffering and sin, our own misery. This is a harsh and aggressive nakshatra, one that is ideal for butchering and killing as well as arguments and attacks. The irony is that it is also an extremely sensitive star as seen through its symbol, the yoni. Strength and sensitivity are the perfect pair. Our shadows, our weaknesses, are indeed our greatest gifts. It takes much courage, strength and power to overcome (to kill) our shadows and illusions. Make your actions count and firmly restrain yourself from being led my your asuras (demons). Purify yourself, but always strive for balance. Sun moves to Chitra nakshatra at 13:41 CDT, joining retrograde Mercury and Rahu in this nakshatra. Ruled by Vishvakarma, this is a nakshatra of action, plans and taking powerful, creative steps. The coming weeks are a time to get powerful and poignant, though as Sun nears Rahu, imbalances in our sense of poignancy may be problematic. If there's hesitancy, confusion or lack of clear direction, these are your shadows at play. If you're pushing too hard and forcing outcomes, you are not aligned with the times. Be bold and passionate with your desires, but make sure you are listening to your emotional body wisdom, your intuition, for guidance. Set goals and priorities and get organized! Get creative as the celestial architect Vishvakarma is here to help you rise and shine! Take some solid action steps towards your visions. This alone might clear the fog. Be diligent with your 3 level check in so you don't mix messages of head and heart. Moon moves to Krittika nakshatra at 18:22 CDT. Saturday, October 11th Today's Intention: In order to gain, we must be prepared to lose something. Moon jumps into its degrees of exaltation and into Taurus just minutes after midnight- at 00:14 am CDT. Exaltation only lasts until 05:34 am CDT, but the Moon will still be in its mulitrikona sign where it can maximize its effects at 75%. With Rahu's drishti on the Moon, watch for big rises and falls. Mars also give his direct gaze, making for a piercing and powerful emotional body. Our Moon tides will be high and low; be mindful of extremes and be diligent with emotional body awareness. Do a 3 level check in so you don't mix messages of head and heart. Moon transits Krittika nakshatra at this time and Agni as well as the Sun share their fire with us. Agni is the fire of life and is a powerful transformational part of our beings. We have many different types of Agni within us. We have much to digest: food, emotions, environments, relationships. Agni helps us burn, clarify and purify all of this in order to help us assimilate the nourishment of life. He brings purification, but he cuts and discards in the process. Within any transformation, there is letting go and loss. Krittika is considered a mixed nakshatra; it is both soft and hard. Though we gain nourishment through Agni, we also have to discard what is unnecessary, not useful for us. Consider this a day of the pruning and purifying process. Moon moves to Rohini at 18:08 CDT. Sunday, October 12th Today's Intention: Merge with your abundant creative flow. Go ahead and get lost in it today. Moon transits Rohini nakshatra and Lord Brahma, as well as the creativity of the Moon, are invited into our day. Moon is still in Taurus, its mulitrikona sign (a strong place for the Moon) while receiving drishti from both Rahu and Mars. Our Moon tides will be high and low; be mindful of extremes and be aware of your emotional body awareness. Be diligent with your 3 level check in so you don't mix messages of head and heart. Rohini is arguably the most creative nakshatra as indicated by its ruler Brahma; he created the universe from his navel after all! It's in this vein, we can create, materialize, and align with our true power as mini gods and goddesses in this life time. Our creativity is in fact our one constant gift- offering possibility and our ability to recreate ourselves and our lives over and over again. Without resiliency and reinventing ourselves, life would be stagnant, without growth, change or abundance. Rohini reminds us to welcome in the flow of creativity, the shakti of life, and to rejoice in the material aspects of life now and again. They are a part of this lila, the play of life, after all. Give thanks for for what flows towards you and through you, and let it continue to flow out into the world. Be that gift. Moon moves to Mrigashirsha nakshatra at 18:38 CDT. Monday, October 13th Today's Intention: Nourish from the inside out. Beauty begins within. Moon transits Mirgashisha nakshatra and Soma (another name for Chandra, the Moon) and also Mars are activated. Nourishment from the divine nectar of Soma is life giving. It lubricates the inner channels of our body and keeps us alive and youthful. Soma is lunar energy, but can be cultivated through the right foods and lifestyle practices. Vaidya Rama Kant Mishra speaks readily about "somagenic" qualities in order to enhance our well being. His lineage, the Shaka Vansya Ayurvedic tradition is a wealth of knowledge for increasing Soma within our bodies, mind and emotions. If you are a Moon child like me, and extra sensitive, you will want to educate yourself on this vital health science. The Moon is a creative and charismatic planet. It's sociable and loves to adorn and be adorned. Moon loves beauty, comfort and nourishment. That is why it is connected to Soma. Build soma within you today with self care, creativity and inviting in the Moon; fill your cup of resiliency. Need some extra guidance and clarity? Schedule a session with me. New Moon is on Friday in the early morning hours- in Gemini and Ardra nakshatra.
Monday, June 23rd Moon transits Aries and moves from Bharani to Krittika nakshatra at 12:30 CDT, enlivening the Sun and Agni- the fire of life. Internal and external flames intensify, heat and passion, anger and aggression are fanned. These energies are heightened as a result of Mars's direct gaze 8 houses away. With Sun now in Ardra nakshatra in close proximity to retrograde Mercury, the mind is likely to have an edge to it. Have you noticed? Or are you blaming it on everyone else? Is the past haunting you? Moon will be sandhi the majority of the afternoon, moving to the edge of Aries. It jumps into Taurus at 18:48 CDT, assuming its position and degrees of exaltation. A rare example of how sandhi degrees (when a planet is in the gap between signs) can actually be a strong placement. Read more about sandhi in my recent article: Living in Limbo. Moon joins Venus in Taurus, who is nicely placed in its own sign right now. Moon is friendly to everyone, however, Venus isn't fond of the Moon. These two, however, are out of the gaze of the other planets right now so this will allow them to share and shine. Look for some strong waves of creativity, inner flow and fluidity, movement and grace. Dance, sing, make art. Let your creative acts stoke your inner flames tonight. Watch how you relate to others and don't lash out. Instead, use your emotions to deepen your inner relationship. Tuesday, June 24th Moon is exalted and in Krittika nakshatra enlivening the Sun and Agni. Heat and fire rule the first half of the day. Work with themes of cutting, clearing, purification and transformation. Just after midday, Moon moves into Rohini nakshatra at 13:48 CDT, having crossed over Venus by this point. In this position, Moon moves from exaltation into mulitrikona, but is still a strong placement for it, out of the gaze of other planets. Our creativity is intensified. Are ideas percolating and gathering steam? Keep a piece of paper and a pen near by and have your journal handy for doodles, sketches and list making. Take your sketches into dancing, let your dancing become paintings. Move, flow, and let the creativity move you and be moved by you. Sing, communicate, share, connect. Wednesday, June 25th The first half of the day, Moon continues through Rohini nakshatra. The creative suggestions from yesterday still apply. Keep a piece of paper and a pen near by and have your journal handy for doodles, sketches and list making. Take your sketches into dancing, let your dancing become paintings. Move, flow, and let the creativity move you and be moved by you. Sing, communicate, share, connect. As Moon moves into Mrigashirsha nakshatra at 15:28 CDT, instant change occurs. The pace of the deer and its swiftness carries us into action, movement and momentum. Can you feel the shift take place within you? Think in terms of action steps. Soma and Mars are enlivened with this nakshatra, life giving qualities surface and offer their sustenance. What life giving nourishment can you move towards? Pay attention for the messages maybe strong or they may be subtle. Thursday, June 26th Moon crosses into Gemini in the early hours of the morning at 04:26 am CDT, though still in Mrigashirsha nakshatra. It joins retrograde Mercury in this nakshatra and Sun in Ardra nakshatra. These three planets receive gaze from Rahu nine houses away, intensifying the mental/emotional edge and our shadow issues. Moon crosses directly over Mercury around 7:30 am CDT which will likely intensify the mental body tussle with the emotions. Make your daily to-do list over breakfast and if you can start your day with a more gentle approach, do it. Try meditation, gentle yoga, a quiet walk outdoors. This is a good day to count to ten before speaking and to get plenty of fresh air and physical movement. Get out of the head and into the body! Ready to take action? Join me for my final Cosmic Creative Self workshop today where we explore Mars and action steps. Venus moves into Rohini nakshatra at 17:08 CDT. Expect creativity to be flowing in the coming weeks! Get out your paints, dance, draw, sing, write. Share your work with others. Be nourished by your creativity and let others nourish you with theirs. This placement of Venus may help our sense of security and thriving. Let the abundance flow towards you and through you. Moon moves to Ardra nakshatra at 17:29 CDT as it nears the Sun. Emotions intensify with Rudra and Rahu heightened here, so watch yourself and don't let the mind get away with its usual shenanigans. Inner tracking will be important to avoid overwhelm. At this time, Moon is already well into the 15th tithi, the final phase of its waning cycle. Do a three level check in for greater awareness. Friday, June 27th Moon transits Gemini with retrograde Mercury and Sun. All receive drishti from a very sandhi Rahu. New Moon is at 3:08 am CDT while in Gemini and Ardra nakshatra. Ruled by Rudra and Rahu, Ardra nakshatra brings with it a certain intensity- whether through the emotions or through physical movement and change; think forcefulness. Rudra is connected to storms, storm energy, as well as prana as he is the father of the Maruts, or inner winds. Externally he manifests as a storm god; internally he manifests as the five types of Prana within the body. Harnessing the winds can be powerful for inner change or outer change. His association with anger and intense emotion is an example of his abilities with power. Anger after all is extremely powerful and is a form of passion and strength. How will you use this strength? This New Moon is not the silent, soft and quiet kind. For there is immense power available to us at this time. It is quiet and inward as any empty new Moon is, yet be mindful of the power available within this silence. What are you creating? Cultivating? And inviting in at this time? What is your relationship to the inner and outer winds? Start your day off with meditation, pranayama and yoga. Get the inner prana moving and in this new waxing cycle upon us, attend to the needs of the inner winds. Emotional well being is intimately related to physical well being. Use this coming cycle to attend to your inner dynamics. Work with emotions directly and note where the challenges arrive. Are you attending to your needs? Letting the mind run the show? Bypassing the emotions? Does the body have a message for you that you have been neglecting to listen to? Listen closely for clues and your inner wisdom. Do a three level check in for greater awareness. Moon moves to Punarvasu nakshatra at 19:49 CDT, enlivening Jupiter and Aditi energy. Saturday, June 28th Mars moves from Hasta nakshatra into Chitra nakshatra at 6:36 am CDT. Mars and Rahu are nearing each other as we prepare for their exact conjunction in the coming weeks. This is a very intense and charged time so be mindful of these energetics in general with regard to your Self, life and relationships. Mars will be in Chitra for roughly a month (through the end of July). This nakshatra is ruled by Mars (heat, passion, aggression, action) and the deity Vishvakarma. He is the "cosmic architect" who loves to create, build, plan and orchestrate. The action oriented association to the planet Mars (both within the nakshatra and by Mars's transit through Chitra) insures that foundations will be laid, steps will be taken and changes will be amplified. Par for the course as we look at the grande planetary shifts happening right now and in the coming weeks! Change is here! Moon transits Gemini with retrograde Mercury, and Sun and is in Punarvasu nakshatra. Aditi, mother of all goodness and unity is enlivened as well as the planet Jupiter. Perhaps you can feel the expansion and a greater smoothness enter your mind as a result of the Moon's shift. As it nears the gap midday, the softness heightens and offers an opening to us. What is coming through the portal for you? Jupiter is a sign away, exalted in Cancer, and can offer some awareness. Are you inviting it in yet? Are you in Houston? Join me at Bayou Bliss Yoga for my Jupiter workshop. Need a virtual workshop instead? Join me for my final Cosmic Creative Self workshop online tomorrow instead. Moon moves into Cancer, its own sign, joining exalted Jupiter there at 15:45 CDT. Both receive drishti from retrograde Saturn in this position. Jupiter has gained strength at this point and is now over the two degree mark which helps our sense of stability, expansion and wisdom. Jupiter and Moon basque in each others radiance as Moon crosses over him. They both offer a gentle awareness to us through heart, emotions, and expanded wisdom. Let it flow. Look for sweet balms of the heart and emotions today. What soothes, nurtures and flows toward you? Feeling restricted and collapsed? This can be from Saturn's gaze. Be easy with the opening. You don't have to force it. Just be willing to invite in, expand and grow. Moon moves into Pushya nakshatra at 22:26 CDT. Sunday, June 29th Moon transits its own sign of Cancer and Pushya nakshatra with exalted Jupiter. Both receive drishti from retrograde Saturn in this position. Jupiter has gained strength at this point and is over the two degree mark which helps our sense of stability, expansion and wisdom. Pushya provides nourishment from Brihaspati (a personified Jupiter) and the planet Saturn. The symbol is the udder of a cow, who offers nourishment to her calf. This is the nourishment palpable with Pushya nakshatra. What is flowing towards you? Away from you? What are you inviting in? Where is the flow being obstructed? Our nourishment and sense of nourishment is directly connected to how able we are to receive. This is a vulnerable position, unlike the position of giving, which is the power position. Today, think in terms of balancing both the give and receive and notice how vital they are to each other. They are truly interrelated functions required for getting our needs met from life, relationships and our environment. Using the metaphor of inhale and exhale, the dance of the life force can be a potent tool of awareness. Use my Jupiter expand/contract workshop for more insights. Ready to take action? Join me for my final Cosmic Creative Self workshop today where we explore Mars and action steps. Was this post helpful to you? Please share it! Have you signed up for my newsletter yet? What structural shifts are naturally occurring? Look closely for the sliver of light that has emerged in the past weeks, the dawning that is occurring. Relationships are getting re-patterned, re-structured and re-negotiated. Can you feel these shifts occurring in your contracts? What is feeling supportive and nurturing? What is not? What have you been learning about what feels helpful and stabilizing for you? Are you ready to cut loose all that doesn’t? How dramatically are you willing to shift and change these old contracts so that you can get your needs met in more life-supporting ways? You don’t have to commit to anything yet. Just be open to new possibilities, new tools, new options and new resources arriving to you. However, do find a door to close and don’t look back. It’s time to be dramatic. Full Moon Chart: Upcoming Transits:
Big shifts and changes occur back to back on 06.15, signaling the momentous changes afoot with the planets and our felt experiences. These are the changes for June 15th that lead us into the upcoming multiple planetary changes: Sun moves into Gemini just minutes after midnight, where it joins a sandhi Jupiter and a retrograde Mercury there. Sun transits Gemini until 07.16. These three planets receive drishti from Rahu, which enlivens movement, force and uncertainties. This new cycle of Sun brings heightened creative potential, possibility and a changeable nature. Fears and concerns over “doing the right thing” crop into our minds and this effect our actions and ability to act. There may be a sense of confusion as a result. Simultaneously, this may cause an increase in our creative potential, we may try new things as a result and we may end up finding new resources and possibilities because of our moveable minds. Watch out for self sabotage and self destructive tendencies. Are you derailing your self on purpose? Or do you need to be forcing a change in your behaviors and patterns? Listen carefully to your needs at this time. Also on June 15th, Venus moves to Krittika nakshatra for roughly ten days. This heightens the cutting and changes in our relationships, creative process and will likely bring a new clarity with it. Simplify, get organized, cut away what does not serve you in your life. This purging will bring purification and transformations as a result. This is preparing us for the upcoming Jupiter cycle where we will all have an opportunity to receive more balance within our hearts and emotions, more nourishment in our relationships and life experience. Cut and purge as though your life depends on it. It does. The other change on 6.15 that happens is Mercury moves back into Mrigashirsha nakshatra, a very movement oriented star that is symbolized by the deer. Mercury, our mental body, is always changing, always moving and is connected to consistent fluctuations. The deer symbol reiterates this “twitchy” nature. Retrograde Mercury in its dance backwards, is re-visiting this nakshatra and inviting in some other possibilities that you may have missed on the first cycle through. Pick up clues and be cognizant of symbols that resurface. Deja vu? Be alert like a deer and notice everything. There will be laser sharpness in the mind at this time. Strategize, make lists, set attainable goals, get organized. Avoid mental land mines and mind ruts. Too in the head? Get embodied. Venus moves to its own sign of Taurus on 06.18 at 07:08 am CDT away from Mars’s drishti and the conjunction of Ketu. This may be the stabilizing force that allows us to make more lasting and life-supporting changes for ourselves during the next month. With all the instability and changeability in the planets right now, this grounding earthiness of Venus in Taurus can help us ground and get the nourishment and support we need in order to make more high level decisions and take very effective action. Resource with this support. Use dance and art to find nurturing and comfort, to create the life you are moving into. Enjoy the simple comforts available right now. As Venus moves into Gemini on July 13th, rather dramatic and abrupt shifts will be happening simultaneously with Rahu and Ketu moving signs and Rahu and Mars conjoining in Virgo (Venus’s debilitation sign). Sudden changes are on the horizon. For now, use stability and grounding as a resource. Just as Venus moves into Taurus, Jupiter makes his momentous change into Gemini later that day at 20:24 CDT. I’ve written extensively on this transit. For greater insights on this 13 month transit visit my Exalted Jupiter articles part one and two. Need some guidance and clarity for this coming year? Schedule a yearly progression with me. I am now booking sessions for June. Solstice occurs on 6.21 at 05:54 am CDT. It is officially summer for the Northern Hemisphere. Just before midnight on 6.21, Sun moves into Ardra nakshatra, heightening our connection to Rudra and Rahu until 7.05. Emotional upheaval, intense movement and change, calamities and uncertainties may be increased. Some worldly success may be provided for some in the coming weeks, but watch for excessive cravings simultaneously. This will be an excellent time to navigate our emotional body with very deliberate awareness as we will likely be feeling some passing clouds and stormy weather. Venus moves to Rohini nakshatra on 6.26 just in time for the new Moon. The creative energy should be palpable at this time as Venus is also in its own sign of Taurus. Jupiter is stronger at this time and Rahu and Ketu intensify as they near the very edge of Libra and Aries respectively. Desires and letting go increase simultaneously. Keep these themes in mind in the next few weeks as we near their transition. New Moon is on 6.27 at 3:09 am CDT while Moon is in Gemini and Ardra nakshatra. Moon will be with Sun there (also in Ardra) and a retrograde sandhi Mercury. There’s a certain intensity with this new Moon. Watch your speech and communications. More on this new cycle in my next transit report. Horoscopes for 6.13 to 6.27 *Horoscopes are based on your Vedic rising sign. Aries: Income starts to even out and stabilize over the course of this cycle but not without some headaches and effort. Home and heart matters may feel weak and overburdened so keep things small and simple as much as possible. Work with emotions consciously and navigate the inner realms with intention. Speak and sing, communicate and share effectively, clearly and concisely. Get creative and use your hands. Clean up your diet and your relationships. Taurus: You are getting much more support right now. Are you feeling the grounding? Likely the head feels strong and creative, powerful and resourceful, but the stomach still demands your attention. The physical body is calling for you to attend to its needs and to not neglect this powerful tool of awareness. What are you learning about speech and stomach? Comfort and digestion? What you ingest and what you get out of it (your digestion/assimilation process)? Continue to look for themes between nourishment and support and the gut and digestion. They are inseparable. Gemini: Your mind is getting some very usable laser focus right now. Your past is informing your future actions. As Mercury continues to retrograde in your first house, use your past to inform your future. What needs to change for you in order to make some powerful forward strides? As Jupiter moves into your 2nd house, comfort and nourishment begins to rise, albeit slowly. Share your thoughts and words, your heart and emotions with others. Ground and stabilize with alone time. Let go of friends that aren’t true blue and change the way you share your gifts. Cancer: Endings turn to beginnings as Jupiter moves into your first house. Though losses and letting go continue to be a theme for you, trust that ample space is being made for newness inside and out. Your heart space and home space are getting a powerful cleanout. Create and use your hands- let this activate your higher wisdom. Let friends nourish and support you, comfort and stabilize you. Look for the support, seek it out, and ground. Trust the changes in your career to make more sense in the coming months. Leo: Career finds a new creative and supportive edge with a bit of notoriety to boot. Enjoy the purpose and power you are capable of creating. Friendships may be intense right now so navigate carefully. As Jupiter moves into your 12th house, you begin a cycle of letting go, which may involve relationships- so let the letting go begin now. Cut loose what does not feel safe, supportive and nurturing. Invite in and create space for a greater sense of depth, power and purpose to arrive in the coming months. Virgo: Clarity and focus come to you with a powerful edge- causing some relief as well as upheaval. Don’t over think, just continue to take effective action steps. The pieces will fall into place accordingly. You are still worried about support and comfort, getting your needs met and the nourishment you require. This is more mental and emotional than anything, so work on the pieces within that need to shift in order for lasting change. Working with the upheaval and the challenges around these concerns are valuable resources for you. Don’t negate them. As Jupiter moves into your 11th house, friends become powerful allies of support. For now, look to education and teachers for greater stability, creativity and awareness. Libra: Storm season isn’t quite over for you, but suddenly new possibilities and options arrive making you feel more hopeful. This is a great time to upgrade your skills, gain new knowledge, teach and share your wisdom. Likely there’s some sharpness, some new clarity that can get you moving in a more forward direction. Money matters and resources stabilize- seemingly coming from the unknown, from your depths. Perhaps you’re getting some payback? Watch for overspending though. Relationship contracts continue to get restructured. Focus on your career right now. Scorpio: Endings and letting go continue to be themes that hold powerful awareness for you. Continue to use this as a resource for growth and transformation. Speak, sing and share about consciousness and self expansion. Use your experiences with loss as a connector, not a separator. Relationships strengthen right now- utilize them for finding greater stability and support, nourishment and grounding. There are things you can trust. Trust this. You and your powers of connection are in transformation right now. Teach, share, advise. People are ready to listen. Sagittarius: Relationships continue to bring a bit of an edge with them. Sometimes they feel supportive and helpful, but mostly they don’t quite satisfy your needs. What really needs to shift and change in order for you to attract more nourishing and safe connections? Look in new places for answers- within your Self and within new environments. Change your scenery. As Jupiter moves to your 8th house, you begin a powerful year of transformation, letting go and sifting through your past. The work and the challenges will be well worth the effort it will require from you. Capricorn: Relationships bring new themes of comfort and support as well as resources once Jupiter moves to your 7th house. Heart and emotions still feels unstable, unpredictable and unsatisfied though. Career continues to change- capitalize on this instability and use it as a resource for your work and how you offer your self. Clean up your diet and watch what you eat. Eat plenty of steamed leafy greens. Work with children, get creative, gain knowledge through your passions. Teach and speak directly from your wisdom, mistakes, lessons and bad habits. You’ll be speaking from the gut. Aquarius: The beauty and grace in your heart feels more tangible and solid in the coming weeks. Use this to find a sense of inner reliability and greater self sufficiency. You are embarking on a clean up cycle as Jupiter moves into your 6th house. Think of it as an initiation process. Make your body, mind and spirit the number one priority. Seek knowledge, wisdom and support from educational resources, gurus and guides. Work with your anger and use it as a tool of awareness and growth. Don’t let it stay in the dark. Pisces: Heart, emotions and relationships come with a strong edge. Think before you speak. This is a time of great house cleaning and finding new creativity for your life. Be bold and courageous and let go of everything that is not serving your higher purpose. Be a warrior in cutting your losses and free up some much needed heart space. Work on themes of nourishment and support, boundaries, needs and what you ingest- physically and metaphorically. Prepare for a new cycle of passion and growth. Was this post helpful? Please share it with a friend! Thank you. Get your horoscopes, transits and emotional resources all in one place. Monday, June 16 Moon transits Capricorn and Sravana nakshatra. Vishnu and his expansiveness as well as the Moon rule over the day. Movement is a key theme for today's experience as Vishnu is said to have traversed the three realms of earth, sky and heaven in three steps. Look for threes today. Use the metaphor of three steps as a key for your actions. Work with the "emergence of the third" and metaphors that include bridging the unknown with the known. What can we bring forth from our depths in order to arrive at a new destination? Vishnu is about expansion, so let your dreams take you to a fuller experience, a more expansive state of mind. Take care of mind/body and spirit today. Saturn energy may slow down the arrival at our desired destination, so work with frustrations consciously. At 16:39 CDT, Moon moves into Dhanishta and we can take the awareness of Sravana into action and implementation. Nourish and be nourished. Create and share your creativity. Let the Vasu Devas help you shine. Mercury has moved back into Mrigashirsha nakshatra in his retrograde dance. He is transiting Gemini with Sun who just entered Gemini and Jupiter who is on his way out. He's feeling the movement, the change, the uncertainty of the other planets and reflecting this to us in our mental body. Frustrations and emotional upheavals are coming from this abundance of movement and change right now. It's palpable. Work with the instability in conscious ways- through dance and creative movement. Find your own metaphors as you move. Use grounding and stabilizing activities as a resource to bring more comfort, calm and support. Find more about this transit in my Transit Report. Tuesday, June 17th Moon moves to Aquarius at 03:35 am CDT and receives drishti (gaze) from Rahu and Jupiter in this position. Moon transits Dhanishta nakshatra. Mars and the Vasu Devas rule the day. The Vasu Devas help us shine and be seen through our gifts. They are sources of illumination and prosperity; literally the light or jyoti. Dhanishta people like to share information and like to be heard- especially through music and creativity. Create, share, take action. Find new ways to get your message out there; get innovative. Moon moves into Satabisha at 14:37 CDT. Rahu and Varuna are enlivened as a result. Guard your health today and take preventative measures for creating wellness. Eat well and nourish your self with good food, proper routine and self care tools. Avoid excess sugar, caffeine, alcohol and intoxicants. Be mindful that on Satabisha days, we may turn excessively critical. This gaze may turn inward or outward- or both. It is a great time to consciously work with our critics and deepen our relationship with them. Why is our critic "helpful" and when does it show up for us? Self tracking is essential in order to find the deeper meaning within our judgement. Wednesday, June 18th Moon transits Aquarius and Satabisha nakshatra until 13:00 CDT receiving drishti (gaze) from Rahu and Jupiter. Many of the suggestions from yesterday apply. At 13:00 CDT Moon moves to Purvabhadrapada nakshatra ruled by Ajaikapada and Jupiter. With the momentous transits happening, we may feel as though we are in a balancing act as the deity Ajaikapada reminds us (another name for Shiva). Lord Shiva expresses in his dance, one foot firmly rooted, the other lifted and in balance; we can feel this sense of limbo today as the transits intensify. So much is in transition right now, hanging in balance, neither here nor there. Can you feel it? Purvabhadrapada signifies endings, letting go, the funeral cot that symbolizes death and transition. This is where we are right now. At the edge. Letting go. It is a big day of transits and changes. Venus moves to its own sign of Taurus on 06.18 at 07:08 am CDT away from Mars’s drishti and the conjunction of Ketu. This may be the stabilizing force that allows us to make more lasting and life-supporting changes for ourselves during the next month. Just as Venus moves into Taurus, Jupiter makes his momentous change into Gemini later that day at 20:24 CDT. I’ve written extensively on this transit. For greater insights on this 13 month transit visit my Exalted Jupiter articles part one and two. For more details on both of the Venus and Jupiter transits please check my transit report. Thursday, June 19th Moon moves to Pisces at 06:07 am CDT and transits PurvaBhadrapada nakshatra, receiving drishti (gaze) from Mars. The morning starts with influences from Ajaikapada and Jupiter. Jupiter arrives into Cancer officially and Venus settles into its own sign of Taurus as well. Moon receives drishti (gaze) from Jupiter in this position. Look for glimpses of gentleness today and invite in a softer approach to life and relationships. Moon moves into UttaraBhadrapada at 11:53 am CDT which energizes Saturn and Ahirbudhnya, the serpent of the depths. This is naga serpent energy though- the kind that brings insights and awareness with excavation below the surface. Dive deep today and explore possibility and purpose. Seek out stability. Sun and retrograde Mercury collide in Gemini causing a heated mind. Issues coming back to haunt you? Noticing old patterns resurfacing? Retrograde Mercury is working his magic on us. Go for precision and exactness, avoid anger and hostility. This combustion receives drishti from Rahu which can heighten the intensity and cloud our awareness. Feeling the heat? Calm down and count to ten before you communicate. Better yet, wait 24 hrs or go meditate before you come to your conclusions. Friday, June 20th Moon moves to Revati at 11:17 am CDT which energizes Mercury and Pushan. Pushan guides us and protects us on our journey, offering us support and nourishment. Look for support, self care, guidance and help today. Ask if you need some extra support or help. Guidance and support is all around us. Often, we just need to be open and receptive to receive it. Moon is being gazed at directly by Mars. Simultaneously Sun and retrograde Mercury are still in close degrees- yesterday’s suggestions still hold true. Issues coming back to haunt you? Noticing old patterns resurfacing? Retrograde Mercury is working his magic on us. The mind is heated and fiery. Great for precision and meticulous thought processes, but anger and hostility can easily surface. This combustion receives drishti from Rahu which can heighten the intensity and cloud our awareness. Feeling the heat? Calm down and count to ten before you communicate. Better yet, wait 24 hrs or go meditate before you come to your conclusions. Saturday, June 21st Solstice occurs on 6.21 at 05:54 am CDT. It is officially summer for the Northern Hemisphere. Moon crosses the tricky junction point between Pisces and Aries at 11:13 am CDT. The morning may be best spent slowly and silently as Moon transitions from water into fire. As Moon enters Aries, it moves into Ashwini nakshatra, nearing Ketu. It also gets drishti from Mars here. As the day takes shape, the fire in us enlivens and Moon collides with Ketu. Use this heat and passion for activation and action steps. Some of us may get instant messages and sudden brilliant ideas! Address anger and agitations head on. Not by forcing your agendas and objectives on others, but by looking within and noticing where the emotion is arising from. How does anger serve you, or how has it served you in your life? It wouldn’t be there unless you relied on it for some reason. Find ways to use it as a resource, a tool of passion and greater inner awareness. Don’t suppress it or lash out at others. Let it to inform your process. Use the day resourcefully. Use healing modalities, purification practices, rasayanas and rejuvenation treatments for getting your needs met. Create, sing, open your artistic channels. Just before midnight, Sun moves into Ardra nakshatra, heightening our connection to Rudra and Rahu until 7.05. Sunday, June 22nd Moon transits Aries and moves into Bharani nakshatra at 11:38 am CDT, enlivening Venus and yama. Transformation, death, release and letting go surface today. The day and its desire may require us to use restraint. Keep it simple. This is an excellent time to cut out attachments. This may be in relationships or simply with house cleaning- or both. We can clean and purge from the inside out. What are you willing to let go and release? What do you no longer need? What needs to be cut loose? What can be restructured in your life so that you have more space for what truly nourishes you? We may also get great clarity today about what we truly need to move forward in our lives. Use this day effectively and invite in transformation. Is this helpful to you? Please share it with at least one friend. Thank you! Plan your week with the planets, sign up for my newsletter. |
